Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with HH Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, during his official visit to India. The meeting resulted in several significant agreements, highlighting the deepening of bilateral relations between India and the United Arab Emirates.
One of the key outcomes was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). This agreement focuses on the operations and maintenance of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, marking a significant step in enhancing nuclear energy cooperation between the two nations.
Another major development was the agreement for a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This deal aims to ensure a stable and reliable LNG supply to meet India’s growing energy needs.
A further MoU was signed between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited (ISPRL). This agreement focuses on enhancing cooperation in managing and developing petroleum reserves, strengthening the strategic energy partnership.
These agreements underscore the strengthening economic and strategic ties between India and the UAE. The collaborations in nuclear energy, LNG supply, and petroleum reserves are set to significantly contribute to both nations’ energy security and economic growth.
