Notification for Rajya Sabha biennial elections-2024 will be issued on Thursday. With this, the process of filling out nomination forms will begin. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that as per the scheduled schedule, nomination papers can be filled till February 15. The process of Rajya Sabha elections will take place in the state assembly complex. Gupta took stock of the preparations for this on Wednesday.
Gupta held a meeting with Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly Mahavir Prasad Sharma and other officials. He informed that scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on February 16. At the same time, candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 20th February.
Voting, if necessary, will take place on February 27 from 9 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes will take place from 5 pm on the same day. The election process will be completed before February 29. Also, elections are to be held for 3 Rajya Sabha seats in the state, which are falling vacant on 3rd April.
