On Saturday morning, bomb threat emails were sent to DLF Mall of India in Noida and Ambience Mall in Gurugram, causing alarm. In response, police, bomb squads, and the fire brigade promptly arrived at both locations, leading to the evacuation of all visitors.
The scare at Ambience Mall in Gurugram followed an email warning of a bomb. The Bomb Disposal Squad, Haryana Police, and Fire Brigade were quickly dispatched. As a safety measure, the mall was evacuated, though no actual threat has been discovered so far.
Meanwhile, sources from DLF Mall management indicated that the situation was part of a security preparedness mock drill.
In Gurugram, the police and bomb squad initiated a search operation at Ambience Mall. According to news agency ANI, the district administration received a bomb threat via email around 10 am, targeting all malls in the area. Following this, search operations began with the involvement of police, a dog squad, and the civil defense team, as confirmed by Mohit Sharma, chief of the civil defense team in Gurugram.
The email reportedly claimed bombs had been planted to “kill everyone in the building” and mentioned two individuals as being “behind this attack.”
