The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted searches at multiple locations in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir in connection with the Reasi terrorist attack.
On the evening of June 9, terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying yatris from Shiv Khori to Katra in the Pouni area of Reasi district. The attack caused the bus to fall into a nearby gorge, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including a child.
The NIA, which took over the investigation on June 15 following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, searched five locations linked to hybrid terrorists and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs), according to a statement from the agency.
The agency said the locations were identified by the arrested accused, Hakam Khan, also known as Hakin Din. As per the NIA investigations, Hakam had provided the terrorists with safe shelter, logistics, and food.
The searches, part of the NIA’s probe into the case (RC-02/2024/NIA/JMU), led to the seizure of various items indicating connections between the terrorists and OGWs. The NIA has started examining the seized material to further unravel the terror conspiracy.
