WITH 22K NEW CASES, INDIA’S COVID NUMBER REACHES 99.79 LAKH

India recorded 22,890 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total caseload to over 99.79 lakh. Fresh infections are down by 4.6% since Thursday. A total of 338 deaths were reported in the last twenty-four hours, taking total fatality to 1,44,789. The total recovered cases of the country crossed 95 lakh with over 31,087 recoveries.

 Delhi recorded 1,418 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the toll of cases to 6,14,775 while the positivity rate stood at 1.6%. The national capital›s death toll mounted to 10,219 with 37 new fatalities. The active cases stand at 11,419.

 Maharashtra reported 3,994 new coronavirus cases including 4,467 recoveries, and 65 deaths. The overall tally went up to 48,499. The number of patients currently taking treatment stands at 60,905.

 As many as 1,075 new cases of Covid-19 emerged in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 2,33,263. Nine patients died during this period taking the death toll to 4,220. On the other hand, 1,155 patients recovered and were discharged.

Tamil Nadu recorded 1,134 new cases of coronavirus and 12 related deaths, taking the overall tally to 8.04 lakh and total fatalities to 11,954. With the new infections, the total number of positive cases stood at 8,04,650 while 7,82,915 people have been cured of the infection. 

 A total of 69,062 sample tests lead to 458 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking Andhra Pradesh’s cumulative tally to 8,77,806. A total of 534 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, thereby increasing the total recoveries to 8,66,359. One death was reported, pushing the overall toll count to 7,070.

 Karnataka reported 1,236 fresh cases of coronavirus and 10 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 9.05 lakh and the toll to 11,989 on Thursday. The day also saw 1,497 patients getting discharged. Active cases stand at 15,380.
