Starbucks has made a major leadership move by appointing Indian-origin technology executive Anand Varadarajan as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The decision signals the company’s strong push toward deeper digital transformation and operational efficiency.
Varadarajan will take charge on January 19. He will join Starbucks’ Executive Leadership Team and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Brian Niccol. Most recently, he led technology and supply chain operations for Amazon’s Worldwide Grocery Stores division. His work focused on efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
