Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Barcelona in Sunday's El Clasico was packed with intensity, goals, and controversy. Though Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham sealed the win for Madrid, Vinicius Jr.'s response to being replaced off the field dominated the post-match headlines.

Vinicius' Frustration Takes Center Stage

The Brazilian winger, who was ever-present during the game, was replaced by manager Xabi Alonso in the 71st minute by fellow Brazilian Rodrygo. In anger at the move, Vinicius marched straight down the tunnel, visibly agitated and refusing to interact with his coach or his teammates.

Although he didn’t score, Vinicius played a key part in the winning goal, tormenting Barcelona’s right-back Jules Kounde with his pace and flair. His cross just before halftime set off a series of headers that led to Bellingham’s decisive strike.

However, his visible displeasure after being substituted overshadowed his strong performance drawing mixed reactions from fans and pundits.

Alonso Responds: “We’ll Have A Conversation”

When questioned regarding the incident after the match, Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso remained calm and stated that he will personally talk to Vinicius about the issue.

"Vini's character? There are various characters in any locker room. Currently, we will celebrate the win, and then we will have a conversation, surely," Alonso said to reporters.

The Spaniard's nonchalant reply indicated that although he knows Vinicius' passion, he will focus on discipline and communication in the future.

Tense Relationship With Alonso?

There have been reports that Vinicius and Alonso have had a testy relationship since the manager arrived in May. The forward has been substituted during most games this season, despite Alonso still working to perfect his tactical setup to marry Vinicius and Kylian Mbappe's dynamic but demanding playing styles.

Even with the substitutions, Alonso has been able to have both players play effectively, something the club's previous managers could not accomplish.

Vini’s Performance: Fearless But Fiery Against Barcelona

Vinicius was electric against Barcelona pressing relentlessly, dribbling past defenders, and keeping the Catalans on the back foot. In the 42nd minute, his looping cross sparked the sequence that allowed Bellingham to score from close range.

Later, he created another chance after outfoxing Frenkie de Jong, though Mbappe’s goal was ruled offside. Even after being substituted, Vinicius reappeared near the touchline before the final whistle, involved in heated exchanges as tensions flared following Pedri’s red card.
