WPL 2026 Retention Rules: The Retentions for WPL 2026 are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 5, and all five franchises - Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), and UP Warriorz (UPW) - will come out with their lists of retained and released players by 5 PM IST.
The much-awaited WPL 2026 auction is likely to be held in New Delhi on November 27, setting the stage for a new round of squad reshuffles ahead of the next season.

WPL 2026 Mega Auction: Likely on November 27 These dates give the franchises ample time for finalizing strategies before the big day.
A report states that franchise decisions might be influenced by India's 2025 Women's ODI World Cup triumph. A few franchises may relook at their retained players list to accommodate the ones who did well for India in winning the trophy.
The same goes for a few overseas players who did well in the World Cup, sources said. Teams will likely reassess their lineups to give priority to in-form World Cup performers ahead of the 2026 season.
