Richa Ghosh is a new generation of India's women's cricket with fearless, bold and power-packed with her big-hitting batting and consistent wicketkeeping, she has quickly become one of the most exciting talents in the game. From the small grounds of Siliguri to international stadiums, the rise was nothing but an inspiration.
Born on September 28, 2003, in Siliguri, West Bengal, Richa Ghosh is an Indian women's team player who is known for her explosive batting and wicketkeeping skills. She made her international debut in 2020 and now features as a regular member in all formats for India.
She finished her schooling at Siliguri's Margaret Sister Nivedita English School while it was important to deal with academics, her heart always lay with cricket. She began training under the tutelage of her father while efficiently juggling education and sport with discipline and passion.
She follows Hinduism and was born into a Bengali Hindu family. Her surname Ghosh, has its origins in the Bengali Hindu community.

The first coach and biggest influence on Richa was her father, Manabendra Ghosh is a local cricket umpire. Her mother, Swapna Ghosh is a homemaker while her sister Shomasree is a medical student. Her father left his business to fully support Richa's cricket journey a sacrifice that changed her life.
She started her career by representing Bengal in domestic tournaments. It was her performances in the Women's Challenger Trophy that gave Richa national recognition with her fearless stroke play, she became India's answer to the middle-order power hitter the team had long been looking for.
She played for India for the first time in a T20I against Australia in February 2020 then made her ODI and Test debuts in 2021 and 2023 respectively again, against Australia. Richa soon established herself as a finisher is known for turning games around with her explosive batting.

She has represented India Women, Bengal, Hobart Hurricanes in the WBBL, Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the WPL over the years.
Her jersey number is 13 and she first wore it while playing for Bengal and has continued using it across all her teams, believing it brings her luck.
As of 2025, her net worth is estimated to be around Rs. 6 crore. She receives money under the BCCI annual contract, which is Rs. 30 lakh. Her WPL deal with RCB is worth Rs. 1.9 crore per season. In accordance with BCCI's equal pay policy, she receives Rs. 15 lakh per Test, Rs. 6 lakh per ODI and Rs. 3 lakh per T20I.
