Fred Warner, linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, left fans and his fellow teammates concerned after he went down with a serious injury at the beginning of Sunday afternoon's matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the injury took place during the first quarter. Warner was clearly in pain as he was carted off of the field at Raymond James Stadium with his leg in an air cast.
Though no clear word on the status of the injury has been given, an early prognosis suggests a potential severe leg or knee injury. He had just one tackle to show for his efforts before being forced out of the game. Warner is being examined in the medical tent of the team, and an official update is expected shortly, but another injury to the growing list for the Niners that already didn't have Purdy, Kittle and Bosa really hurts. Warner's a linchpin on defense and if it turns out this is a long-term injury, it will be a huge blow for San Francisco because he's an All-Pro player several times over.
