Wales will see co-captains Kate Williams and Alex Callender return for their last game of the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup against Fiji at Sandy Park, Exeter, on Saturday, September 6. The two sides are yet to win a game at the tournament and neither has any chance of reaching the quarter-finals, with Canada and Scotland already assured of their place in Pool B as qualifiers.

Head coach Sean Lynn has introduced four changes and two positional switches to the team that will start as Wales seek to end the tournament on a high. Vets hooker Carys Phillips comes into the front row, and Kayleigh Powell gets her first start in the full-back position. Top player Nel Metcalfe is shifted to the wing from Jasmine Joyce-Butchers, who goes down to the bench. Georgia Evans switches to lock with the returning Callender and Williams back in the back row.

"As players, coaches and staff we are committed to ending the World Cup on a high," Lynn said. "Having Alex Callender and Kate Williams returning is a huge confidence boost for the team. We know this will be our last match of the tournament and we respect the challenge Fiji present. The players have been instructed to be brave and take on the challenge to make sure we depart with our heads held high."

There have been changes from Cunningham, with Asinate Serevi being played at lock and Repeka Tove and Kolora Lomani coming in on the wings following strong bench performances.

"We have attempted to reward performances since the Scotland game, where the players displayed immense effort and ability," Cunningham added. "There are one or two enforced changes for injury and suspension, but we have a solid squad, and we support all players who take the field."

Fiji impressed during their 29-15 loss against Scotland, with glimpses of the determination and ability they would demonstrate against Wales.
