2025 US Open men’s singles final will be a historic one not just for the trophy but for the record-breaking purse value for the winner. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will face each other at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday with the victory going to a record $5 million (INR 4.4 crore approx) the biggest prize money in tennis history.

This year’s US Open has created a new record with a prize money pool of $90 million, a 20% boost from 2024. The men’s and women’s singles winners will earn equal prize money, another positive move towards the sport.

High Stakes Showdown Between Sinner and Alcaraz

For Sinner, the 24-year-old Italian, the match is about making history. He is targeting his third Grand Slam of the year having already won Australian Open and Wimbledon and would love to be the first man since Roger Federer (2004-2008) to successfully defend the US Open men’s singles title.

Alcaraz, the 22-year-old Spaniard, is used to New York success. He won his first Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows in 2022 as a teenager and is pursuing his sixth major overall, and second of 2025 following his French Open victory.
