UEFA Champions League: Pots for 2025-26

Here are the official pots for this year’s draw:

Pot 1: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona

Pot 2: Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Atalanta, Villarreal, Juventus, Eintracht Frankfurt, Club Brugge

Pot 3: Tottenham Hotspur, PSV Eindhoven, Ajax, Napoli, Sporting CP, Olympiakos, Slavia Praha, Bodø/Glimt, Olympique de Marseille

Pot 4: FC Copenhagen, AS Monaco, Galatasaray, Union Saint-Gilloise, Qarabag, Athletic Bilbao, Newcastle United, Pafos FC, Kairat Almaty

What is UEFA’s Format?

UEFA continues with the 36-team format introduced last season. Teams are split into four pots. Each team will face two opponents from every pot — one at home and one away.

An automated software will ensure that every side gets eight fixtures, keeping in line with UEFA’s rules.

Fixture Rules to Remember

UEFA has laid down clear rules for the draw:

A team cannot face another team from the same association.

A team cannot play against more than two clubs from the same country.

This guarantees variety in the fixtures and ensures fair competition.

When Will the Fixtures Be Released?

The official schedule for the league stage will be released on August 31. That’s when fans will know the exact dates for their club’s games.

This season’s draw is special because all three European trophy holders are in action. PSG, Tottenham, and Chelsea will try to defend their respective European titles.

While teams like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City want to build on their UCL heritage, outsiders like Pafos FC and Kairat Almaty will dream of giant-killing streaks.
The draw may result in exciting preliminary matches between the favorites and underdogs in Europe. Every game matters in the new league format, and unexpected outcomes are always possible.
