The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 has officially begun, and with it has come an exhilarating mix of old and new talent. The likes of Rishabh Pant, LSG captain and Indian Test vice-captain and Ishant Sharma, the second Indian pacer to achieve the feat of 100 Test matches-under- his-belt alongside the Champions Trophy winner Harshit Rana, will be on show for fans this season.
Young prospects such as Priyansh Arya and Digvesh Rathi, who lit up IPL 2025, are also set to showcase their abilities at the historic Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Offering More to Local Talent
With the introduction of two new teams, the Outer Delhi Warriors and the New Delhi Tigers, the DPL 2025 widens the competitive landscape, providing many more players with chances of stardom. The auction is said to be reformed, with more players and domestic cricketers in focus.

“We have enhanced the auction and widened the player base to elevate local cricket and ensure the best talent surfaces,” said Rohan Jaitley, DDCA President.
Players to Watch
Rishabh Pant, retained by Puraani Dilli 6, will be an explosive batsman with experience. West Delhi Lions has Ishant Sharma, who brings in the experience of fast-bowling.
Outer Delhi Warriors will see Priyansh Arya, known for hitting six sixes last season, while Digvesh Rathi, a renowned spinner, strengthens South Delhi Superstarz. Other rising stars like Ayush Badoni, Harshit Rana, Himmat Singh and Anuj Rawat are expected to leave a mark this season.
Next-Generation Talent Makes Their Mark
DPL 2025 is not all about established names. Aaryavir Sehwag, son of Virender Sehwag, represents Central Delhi Kings, giving glimpses of his batting ability witnessed at the Cooch Behar Trophy.

DPL 2.0
This season consists of 44 league-stage matches between eight teams, extending from 30 last season, with the top-four advancing to IPL-style playoffs. Fans can catch all the live action on Jio Hotstar, Star Sports and Fan Code, or watch the matches live at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
