The first thing we start with is an insight session with the athletes. So, that really helps us understand what they want, what they feel. And then once we get really clear on how they want to feel each of these moments, then we go.” 11. VARIOUS OF KITS ON DISPLAY 12. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DESIGN DIRECTOR FOR OUTWEAR AND TEAM CANADA OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC AT LULULEMON, CATHERINE LEBRUN, SAYING: “Always look at the landscape as a source of inspiration. Because it’s winter and Canada has a strong winter landscape. But also, it’s a way for all Canadians to find their way or find themselves in the collection. So, we always look at the landscape. So, the glacier inspired the colour for the closing ceremony. And then, when we thought about the territory, how could we illustrate that in a print? That’s when we ended up with a topographical map.” 13. VARIOUS OF UNIFORMS ON DISPLAY 14. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CANADIAN ICE HOCKEY PLAYER, TYLER MCGREGOR, SAYING: “I love the detail. You’ve got the topography of Canada all over. I’ll give you a little spin, you can see the back. It’s phenomenal though. I love the red, the red really pops too. I love the podium fit. It will look good with gold.” 15. VARIOUS OF KITS ON DISPLAY 16. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CANADIAN BIATHLETE, CHRISTINA PICTON, SAYING: “Man, it's so exciting. The whole kit is so beautiful. And once we saw the hero shot and all the pieces together up on stage, it just looked so wonderful. It represents Canada perfectly.” 17. VARIOUS OF KITS ON DISPLAY STORY: The uniforms Team Canada will be sporting at the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics were unveiled in Toronto on Tuesday (November 18). Canadian athletes and para athletes will go to northern Italy with several kits for the different moments when they will be a part of at the Games, including the opening and closing ceremonies, media opportunities, travel, and of course, a special look for the podium – should they reach it. One of the most eye-catching elements is a giant maple leaf that adorns the front of a unique convertible quilted wrap vest that is part of the opening ceremony look. As expected, most of the kits are red and white like the colours of the Canadian flag. But the designers at lululemon, who were tasked with creating all the looks, decided to go a different route with the closing ceremony digs. The outfit for the closing ceremony includes a hooded puffy jacket that is a dark shiny blue-green colour which the designers said was inspired by glaciers and the harsh icy conditions of Canadian winters. The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in eight different locations in northern Italy from February 6 – February 22. (Production: Kyaw Soe Oo, Kurt Michael Hall)
