You know coaches, players, new teammates, another year with teammates I did play with, and just to find confidence in myself going out there and knowing that, of what it's like playing in this league. You know playing quarterback at a high level in this league is hard and knowing that the preparation you put into it is what you get out of it and knowing that every week is different." 6. (SOUNDBITE)(English) PATRIOTS QUARTERBACK DRAKE MAYE, SAYING: "I think one of the biggest things is just coming this way and taking advantage of the opportunity. What a chance we get to do, with a first year, first head coach, with a first year head coach, to get a chance to win a Super Bowl. So we come all this way, as much hard work as we put in in the offseason, training camp, all the days where you didn't want to, you know, run the extra sprint or run the extra route after practice or do the extra lift in the morning, it's worth it now and so let's make the most of it." 9. (SOUNDBITE)(English) PATRIOTS HEAD COACH MIKE VRABEL, SAYING: "Well, again, I take great pride in coaching these guys and seeing these guys have success, it's why I do what I do. I enjoy watching guys improve, I enjoy watching guys taking advantage of opportunities, and this certainly is a great opportunity." 10. VARIOUS OF PATRIOTS FANS BEHIND RAILING 11. (SOUNDBITE)(English) SEAHAWKS QUARTERBACK SAM DARNOLD , SAYING: "Yeah, I think that's just it, it's leaning on my teammates, you know obviously because this, you know it can feel big, you know it's a big game obviously, you know the Super Bowl is something that you dream of as a kid, you know like I talked about previously. But I think you lean on your teammates. You lean on your coaches. And then like I mentioned, I lean on my friends and my family a lot so, but these guys in this locker room, these guys that I go and practice with every single day, they're the ones that, you know, that keep you grounded in what we do." 15. (SOUNDBITE)(English) SEAHAWKS HEAD COACH MIKE MCDONALD, SAYING: "I just, you know when you talk about the vision of our team and the like, it's like this, we want people to look at the city of Seattle, our community, our football team, as one, something to be proud of but, something where we can bring people together, you know, and get the best version of everybody involved and people look at our team and say, how the heck did they get that done up there? You know and, and it takes everybody so it's someone that can bring people together and go towards a common goal and that's, those are the things that you remember, the journey you know, and all those relationships you build along the way is what makes it really special." 16. WIDE OF SEAHAWKS FANS AND OPENING NIGHT SIGN STORY: The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks kicked off Super Bowl festivities on Monday (February 2) with an Opening Night that swapped spectacle for a surprisingly more sedate affair – proving even the NFL's most notorious media circus can have an off night. Gone were the wedding gowns and superhero costumes that typically transform the annual media blitz into a carnival of chaos. Instead of the usual packed house atmosphere that draws thousands of rabid fans, this year's toned-down event unfolded in the decidedly unglamorous confines of a room inside the San Jose Convention Center – a far cry from last year's grand stage inside New Orleans' Superdome. The evening's peak absurdity arrived when Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold donned a ham-shaped hat courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel show comedian Guillermo Rodriguez, sparking an impromptu "Ham for Sam" chant. Darnold, who enjoys birdwatching and even has an app on his phone at the ready to identify different bird calls, was even asked if he could mimic some of the sounds for everyone. The 28-year-old Darnold would not play along, opting instead to do his best to keep this week as normal as possible ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl clash.
