Father of Indian women's cricket star Smriti Mandhana, Srinivas Mandhana, has been discharged from the hospital after a heart attack, but uncertainty is being raised, stirring widespread speculation and rumours, over the rescheduling of her wedding with musician Palash Muchhal.
Srinivas Mandhana was hospitalized following a heart attack that necessitated immediate medical intervention. He is now “out of danger” according to hospital sources after treatment and observed recovery.
The doctors reportedly performed an angiography that showed no blockages, thereby bringing relief to the Mandhana family and well-wishers. The fact that Srinivas has been discharged means he is stable for now and under home observation.
According to media reports, the family rushed Srinivas to hospital after his health deteriorated suddenly when he was having his breakfast. Initial discomfort quickly escalated, prompting the call for an ambulance.
The medical tests diagnosed a heart attack, for which immediate treatment involving angiography and monitoring was required. Considering the risks associated with cardiac events, the family decided, along with the medical team, to postpone all non-essential commitments, including Smriti's forthcoming wedding, till he had regained his strength.
Though Srinivas has recovered and been discharged, a revised wedding date has not been shared by Smriti’s side or Palash’s side. In fact, since the hospitalization, the wedding has been postponed indefinitely.
While the general assumption was of an imminent marriage, no formal declaration has been forthcoming. Speculation has mounted with each passing day, further fuelled by Smriti's decision to take down pictures and videos from her social-media accounts.
Many of her teammates on the national side reportedly removed related posts that further deepened speculation regarding the future of the marriage plans.
As no official word has come from either of the two families over this development, several unsubstantiated rumors about Palash Muchhal are doing the rounds on social media. Posts suggesting "cheating rumors" and "relationship problems" have gained circulation; however, all these pieces of information remain unconfirmed as of now by either the Mandhana or Muchhal family.
So far, no credible proof can corroborate these claims, as they just remain part of the speculative chatter often stirred up in the public by celebrity wedding delays.
Palash's rare public sightings have only increased the speculation on social media. There were reports that he had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai following stress and exhaustion from endless journeys and stage performances.
No fresh updates have come from him or his family since then, which led to several hashtags and discussions regarding his whereabouts. However, there has been no verified report that he has "run away" or left the city; most of these claims are apparently social-media driven and rather than fact-based.
