With the passing of each day things are clearing up with regard to the BCCI Elections. It is becoming more clear by the day that the existing office bearers and members are likely to hold onto their respective office. The incumbent regime at BCCI would thus be more or less the same.

This has become more clear with the way in which the current disposition has put  its weight behind the present Joint Secretary Rohan Desai who claims to represent Goa Cricket Association. This is despite there being controversy with regard to his nomination which has seen favours from the current dispensation.

The nomination of Dessai has been challenged by its own Council member. President of Goa Cricket Association has objected to nomination of Dessai on the ground that the same is filed by an unauthorised person, and he has gone on on the extent that Dessai is not even eligible to be nominated in accordance with rules of the Goa Cricket Association.

On the other hand, the other front runners for the key positions are Rajeev Shukla and Debojit Saikia. While Rajeev Shukla has been in the helm of affairs and always held onto some position either in state association or in the BCCI is likely to continue as the president or the vice president. Debojit Saikia who is the childhood friend of one of the sitting Chief Minister is likely to continue of account of his said relation. It is rightly said that friendships matters. Others who are also in fray are Arun Dhumal of Himachal Cricket Association, Anirudh Chaudhary of Haryana Cricket Association and Jaydev Shah, who is also one of the known figures in cricketing administration. Apart from this Rakesh Tiwary of Bihar Cricket Association is also lobbying around in Delhi with the ruling party despite orders of impropriety from the Supreme Court.
