VARIOUS OF OLYMPIC RINGS STORY: Man’s four‑legged best friends made the most of fresh snowfall at Olympic venues in northern Italy on Thursday (February 5).          Dogs were spotted enjoying the snow at Cortina d’Ampezzo and Livigno, two of the Games’ alpine locations.     But while the local pooches were strutting their stuff, many decked out in fancy digs, some current and past Olympians that have travelled to Italy told Reuters they are missing their dogs who were left back home.      Luckily, Austrian snowboarder Hanna Karrer’s longing will be remedied soon, with her family bringing her dog, Silly, to Livigno on Saturday (February 7).     “My mom, dad, my dog, my two siblings, and my grandma are coming. And I’m really looking forward to it,” Karrer told Reuters.      Karrer said she begged her dad for Silly and promised to take care of her – and now she jets around the world snowboarding.     “It’s super funny. But he’s kind of thankful for her, so it’s alright,” she said of her dad.      Though she’s not competing at the Milano Cortina Olympics, two-time Olympian Hailey Langland is in Livigno supporting Team USA, including her boyfriend, fellow snowboarder Red Gerard.      Langland said it was a shame her dog, Chili, could not come to Italy because she would have loved the snowy surroundings     “I wish she could come here… She would love it. She actually had her first time in the snow last month and she loved the snow. She’s usually a beach, SoCal dog. So, yeah, I wish she was here with us,” Langland said.     The Olympics officially kick off on Friday (February 6) evening with an Opening Ceremony in Milan.
