Their contract expired with WWE on August 10, 2025- this has been firmly established after weeks of speculation and contrary reporting.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett have since been moved to the alumni section of the WWE's official site and taken off the company's internal roster. For the majority of fans, this settled what had been long anticipated- that this power couple was finally out of WWE and off the active roster.
Wrestling companies have been restless concerning the contract situation. Initially, some early reports stated that neither Kross nor Scarlett had received offers for contract renewal. But then conflicting reports circulated regarding possible last-minute negotiations.
Kross reacted to the rumors with great caution during an interview on The Angle Podcast while doing promotion for the book Life Is Fighting. He uttered, “I hope so. I hope we do come back,” but insisted that much of the online gossip was simply not true. He was somewhat hopeful but very realistic about the uncertain future of both Kross and Scarlett in WWE, given the alleged contract dispersals.
Scarlett added more light to the scenario when she posted a heart-pulling message on social media, thanking the WWE for the opportunity. She called it "the ride of her life" and said that the locker room in WWE was the best one she had ever been part of.
She shared excitement for the future, declaring, "The next chapter starts now, and I am ready to bring something unforgettable to any stage, anywhere in the world." Kross also hinted towards a new beginning and glanced into his message regarding accepting bookings as free agents.
Kross and Scarlett are free agent wrestling couples at present and must now chart their way through the turbulent waters of contract-free status. They are thought well suited for offers from Impact Wrestling- formerly TNA- and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), both of which would, perhaps, complement Kross's out-there wrestling style and character work.
However, the ever-changing landscape of hiring and merging that WWE has opened in the past months, including Impact and AAA partnerships, may prove a hindrance to Kross and his partner. Some promoters are remaining apprehensive, feeling unsure whether the situation is real or a storyline.
Uncertainties notwithstanding, Kross and Scarlett maintain fierce support from fans, as seen through chants at live events like “#WeWantKross” and a growing online interest.
With proven chemistry on-screen and an unusual presence, they are among the most desirable crops for wrestling organizations ever. As free agents, the couple is now on a threshold ready to plough the next step with their careers in the global wrestling environment.
