DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will host crucial ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 matches, including a semifinal and possibly the final (AFP)
The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, Navi Mumbai has found itself in the world of cricket. Matches that were finally scheduled to take place in Bengaluru have ended with the unavailability of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, giving way to DY Patil Stadium as one of the main venues. From September 30 to November 2, there will be five matches held in Navi Mumbai; two of which will include three group matches, a semifinal, and potentially the grand finale.
Importance is given in this edition, considering that after a long time, the women's World Cup has returned to India. Apart from Navi Mumbai, it also means that other venues will all be confirmed in India for the tournament, including ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore and ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

R. Premadasa Stadium also plays a big part out of Colombo, with the ICC ensuring that women's cricket will be celebrated across the regions.
City inclusion welcomed by ICC chairman Jay Shah as there is an increasing interest in venues for women's cricket. Speaking of packed crowds during international games in addition to the Women's Premier League, Shah is confident that DY Patil Stadium would bring the same vibrancy to the World Cup. He further reiterated that because the edition has the potential to be a milestone in the future of women's cricket globally, it was all set to do that for the tournament. "This World Cup can be termed that way," remarked Shah, "as it would be remembered as a defining chapter in the journey of the sport."

The amended fixtures indeed mean the setting of the group stage in late October, followed by the knockout rounds with thrilling matchups: First semifinal will happen, either in Guwahati or Colombo, on October 29, while the second semifinal will be hosted by Navi Mumbai on October 30. The tournament will end on November 2, where the final will be either in Navi Mumbai or Colombo, depending on the logistical arrangements.
