The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2025 will kick off to a star-studded affair as nine-time Olympic gold medallist Carl Lewis will be the International Event Ambassador. Lewis will flag off the elite race at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 12.
A Career of Unmatched Glory for Carl Lewis
Carl Lewis’s Olympic legacy is truly remarkable. Over the course of four Olympic Games, he collected nine gold medals, more than any other track and field athlete in Olympic history.
Lewis won four golds at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics in the 100m (9.99s), 200m (19.8s), long jump (8.54m), and 4x100m relay emulating Jesse Owens’ mythical 1936 Berlin achievements. He continued to excel at Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, and Atlanta 1996, setting records that have inspired generations.
