VONN POSING FOR PICTURES AT THE CARING WOMEN CHARITY EVENT RED CARPET STORY: While her Olympic return remains unknown, U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn's career is being celebrated in a new comic book. TidalWave Comics has added Vonn to their Female Force series that "celebrates women who inspire, empower, and break barriers," which will be released on February 11. In 22 pages, Vonn's journey from amateur to Olympian and pop cultural staple is chronicled in the colorful biography. "Female Force: Lindsey Vonn" will give readers a peek inside her training regime, which led to numerous wins, in addition to the challenges she faced after injury setbacks. Comic book author Michael L. Frizell said, "Her Olympic journey is told not just through medals, but through moments of doubt, determination, and resolve revealed panel by panel." Vonn recently withdrew from the World Cup Super-G race in Switzerland one day after injuring her left knee in a downhill crash at the same venue. The 41-year-old American alpine star's status for the upcoming Milan Cortina Olympics remains uncertain after she had to be airlifted from the course on January 30. The opening ceremony for the Winter Games is next Friday, with the downhill event—Vonn's strongest discipline—scheduled for February 8. The publication will be available in both print and digital forms. (Production: Alicia Powell)
