Australian Championship 2025 Live Streaming: Australian football lovers have something to be excited about this season as the 2025 Australian Championship is set to debut. SBS is streaming all the games LIVE and FREE, providing viewers nationwide with access to Australia's recently inaugurated second-tier football league.
The Australian Championship is the country's first second-tier football competition, which consists of eight foundation clubs and eight NPL premiers from around the nation. The 16 teams are played into four groups of four teams, and the winners of each group will advance to a sudden-death finals series. The Australian Championship trophy will be given to the title holder, thus making it an important milestone in Australian football.
The doors are opening on October 10 with a blockbuster match-up of South Melbourne FC versus Sydney Olympic FC at Melbourne's Lakeside Stadium. People can catch it LIVE in full on SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand.
In addition, SBS will also show 17 'Super Saturday' matches LIVE, and all 55 matches will be accessible through SBS On Demand. For viewers who are unable to watch live, all games will be available for catch-up, including full replays, 25-minute mini matches, and 3-minute highlight packages.
The teams playing in the first Australian Championship are 16 in total:
Broadmeadow Magic, Moreton City Excelsior, South Melbourne, Sydney Olympic, Heidelberg United, Marconi Stallions, South Hobart, Wollongong Wolves, Avondale, Canberra Croatia, NSW Spirit, Preston Lions, Bayswater City, North Eastern MetroStars, Sydney United 58, Wests APIA.
The competition is separate from the A-League Men, without promotion or demotion between the two competitions currently.
SBS On Demand provides a flexible option for viewers who miss live matches. The dedicated On Demand Hub launches on October 3, allowing fans to watch full matches, mini matches, or quick highlights at their convenience.
Later rounds roll on each week, leading to quarter-finals on November 22, semi-finals on November 29, and the final on December 6. All the matches will be broadcast live or through On Demand, so fans won't miss any action.
The complete round-by-round fixture list is on the SBS website and On Demand service, detailing fixtures, match times, and live-streaming options. It's simple for fans to organize which matches to see, live or catch-up, on SBS, SBS VICELAND, and SBS On Demand.
