SEAT-SHARING TALKS YET TO BEGIN WITH DMK, SAYS CONGRESS

Congress’ Tamil Nadu in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao and other senior leaders met M.K. Stalin at the DMK headquarters on Wednesday and invited him for election campaigns with Rahul Gandhi.

Refuting speculations about seat-sharing talks, Congress leaders said that in the meeting, which lasted for more than 30 minutes, they discussed the election campaigns and planned the itinerary to accommodate both the leaders.

Dinesh Gundu Rao also said that the senior leaders will hold a discussion on Thursday about the places and date of his Tamil Nadu tour for the elections.

DMK leaders who spoke to The Daily Guardian said that there is no urgency to initiate seat-sharing talks now as it is too early for them. Congress leaders said that they are in the process of identifying probable seats and talks will be initiated soon with the approval of the Congress high command.

Other sources have said that DMK will also not be in a position to give seats like they offered the last time as they will contest in at least 170 seats.
