The Nano Banana AI trend is everywhere. Social media platforms like X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn are full of 3D figurine images. Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana, powered by Gemini’s 2.5 Flash Image model, is leading the trend. It can make fast, detailed, and realistic images.

But Nano Banana isn’t the only AI tool. Qwen, ChatGPT, and Grok can also create 3D figurines. We tested all four with the same prompt to see which performs best.

Nano Banana AI Trend - The Prompt Used

To keep it fair, we used one detailed prompt for all AI models:

"Create a 1/7 scale commercialised figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, in a real environment. The figurine is placed on a computer desk. The figurine has a round transparent acrylic base with no text on the base. The content on the computer screen is a 3D modelling process of this figurine. Next to the computer screen is a toy packaging box, designed in a style reminiscent of high-quality collectable figures, printed with original artwork. The packaging features two-dimensional flat illustrations."

Nano Banana AI Trend - Alternative to Google's Gemini

Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image)

Nano Banana gave the cleanest and most realistic results. It handled the figurine, background, and packaging perfectly. The speed was fast, which explains why it is so popular on social media.

Qwen Image Edit

Qwen, from Alibaba, is very precise with details. The background and textures looked sharper than Nano Banana. But it struggled with faces, making the figurine look less lifelike. Still, for free users, it’s a good option.

ChatGPT (GPT-5)

OpenAI’s GPT-5 can also generate images. It produced precise details and showed a thorough understanding of the challenge. It was slower, though, and users could only produce two photos in a day. It didn't always get the faces correctly.

Grok AI

Grok was once a popular free image generator. It isn’t as strong as Nano Banana, Qwen, or ChatGPT for realistic figurines. But Grok can turn images into short videos with sound, which the others cannot do for free. This makes it useful to expand your 3D creations.

More Than Just a Trend

What started as a fun selfie-to-figurine experiment is now useful for industries. Brands and marketers are using Nano Banana to make product mockups, packaging, and ads. Gamers and 3D designers are using it to quickly visualize characters.

Grok’s video feature shows the future: static figurines could become AI-generated short films.

In addition to being a viral fad, the Nano Banana trend may mark the beginning of a new age in digital content production, where AI tools collaborate and compete to foster innovation.
