The first supermoon in 2025 will light up the sky across the world and will awe the skywatchers with celestially beautiful event nicknamed the Harvest Moon will provide a sight on October 6 and early morning October 7 for this natural beauty.
Supermoon is the full moon that is closest to a perigee or near its nearest elliptical point in orbit to the Earth. It is different from a normal full moon because it appears within 30% brighter than and much larger than this full moon but the actual difference may not be very large and it looks more impressive with reference to size just because of an optical effect called the moon illusion the tides on Earth may also rise slightly higher at times of supermoon due to its gravitational pull.
The exhibition of super moon will occur on October 6 to the early hours of October 7 2025. The best time to see it is very soon after sunset on October 6 when the moon rises in the eastern sky. The experience will be at its greatest for those willing to leave the bright city lights behind avoiding all light pollution and taking in the full grandeur of the moon.

There is a wide geographical area of this year's supermoon viewing; the supermoon will be seen in most of the Northern Hemisphere. Front-row seats for this celestial entertainment will be given in Europe, North America and the United Kingdom, as well as parts of the United States.
In the U.S., the frequency of a supermoon peaks around late October 6; the UK will catch this phenomenon while rising on October 7, allowing an extended opportunity for viewing. This falls in line with the time of year known as autumn equinox which has historically been regarded as the season of the Harvest Moon.

Supermoon will be visible from most parts of India during the night of October 6 through early mornings of October 7 while in some areas of India, the peak moment may overlap with daylight, still, the full moon lights up quite brightly at night, illuminating the sky in golden tones. The Visibility will depend mainly on the respective local weather conditions and cloud cover as clear skies are essential for the best view of the event. This is a beautiful event for Indian sky watchers to link in with the cosmic rhythm of nature.
