Samsung is preparing to enter a new era of foldables with its upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold, a tri-folding smartphone set to rival Huawei’s Mate XT. The device is expected to launch soon and promises to combine the power of a tablet and a phone in one sleek package.
Samsung already leads the global foldable market with its Galaxy Z Fold 7 lineup. But competition from Huawei and Vivo is rising, with devices like the Vivo X Fold 5 and Huawei Mate XT pushing innovation further. Now, Samsung is ready to respond with something truly next-level.
While Samsung showcased the Galaxy Z TriFold globally, the company has not confirmed the official India launch date yet. Based on global leaks, the device could debut in late 2025 or early 2026. Samsung usually releases new foldables in July, but the TriFold might arrive later due to its complex design and limited production run.
While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed pricing, leaks indicate the Galaxy Z TriFold could be positioned above the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Given its advanced design and triple-display mechanism, the price could start at a premium flagship range, likely between $2,000 and $2,300 (approx. ₹1.7–1.9 lakh).
According to leaks, Samsung may opt for a limited release for the TriFold. The initial rollout could be restricted to South Korea and the UAE, with India possibly following later depending on demand. Production is rumoured to be limited to under 200,000 units, highlighting the phone’s niche positioning.
Leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z TriFold will look similar to the Z Fold 7, but it will include an extra folding panel. Once unfolded, the display could measure up to 10 inches, making it ideal for multitasking, streaming, and productivity.
The new G-styled hinge is said to use a dual in-folding mechanism, allowing for a seamless folding experience. This design gives users both compact portability and the large-screen convenience of a tablet.
The display is likely to feature an OLED panel with DC dimming, ensuring vibrant visuals with reduced eye strain. The rear camera island is expected to retain Samsung’s familiar design language.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will likely feature top-tier performance hardware, similar to or better than what’s inside the Z Fold 7. Expected specs include high RAM and storage options powered by Samsung’s latest flagship chipset.
The phone is rumoured to feature three internal battery units, which could combine for more power than the Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh capacity. Reports suggest the total capacity might be higher to support the large tri-fold display.
On the camera front, Samsung could use the 200MP primary camera sensor from the Z Fold 7. This would help the TriFold compete with Huawei’s Mate XT in photography and video quality, making it a strong all-rounder for content creators.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold represents a new milestone in foldable design. If Samsung perfects the durability, battery life, and software optimization, this device could redefine the future of smartphones.
By blending innovation with functionality, the Z TriFold could help Samsung solidify its leadership in the global foldable market — and potentially spark a new trend in tri-fold smartphones.
