Samsung is getting ready to enter the world of smart eyewear with its new AI-powered glasses. The South Korean tech giant plans to take on Meta’s Ray-Ban AI Glasses by combining artificial intelligence with a stylish design. Built in partnership with Google and top fashion eyewear brands, the new device is expected to bring innovation and elegance together in one frame.

Samsung Smart AI Eyewear

Samsung has officially confirmed its collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, two leading global eyewear brands. The company aims to create glasses that look fashionable but also come packed with smart AI features.

The idea is to design glasses that people can wear daily — whether at work, while travelling, or during casual outings. Samsung says this project is part of its plan to grow into the world of extended reality (XR), which includes virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR).

Samsung also promised an “exceptional customer experience” with a product that combines style, comfort, and smart technology in one package.

Android XR and Google’s Gemini AI

The upcoming Samsung AI glasses will run on Android XR, a new operating system developed by Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm. This platform is built to support powerful and immersive experiences on devices like smart glasses and headsets.

It will also feature Google’s Gemini AI, an advanced AI model that understands text, images, sound, and surroundings all at once. Thanks to this, users will be able to get directions, translate languages, access real-time info, or use an AI assistant — just by using their voice or simple hand gestures.

The glasses will also connect easily with Android smartphones and wearables, making them part of a larger connected ecosystem.

Stylish and Functional Design

Samsung’s AI glasses are expected to be lightweight, sleek, and comfortable to wear. Unlike large AR headsets, these glasses will look like regular eyewear. Reports suggest they will include tiny speakers, microphones, and cameras, so users can make calls, take pictures, listen to music, or interact with AI — without pulling out their phones.

Since Samsung is working with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the design will focus as much on fashion and looks as on advanced technology.

Expected Launch and Competition

Although Samsung hasn’t shared the exact launch date, reports say the company may first release AI-only glasses in 2026. These will be followed by a full AR version in 2027 with display features.

Once launched, Samsung’s glasses will directly compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban AI Glasses and the upcoming Ray-Ban Meta Display Glasses. This competition could mark the beginning of a new phase in wearable AI devices.

Samsung’s Vision for the Future

The AI glasses are part of Samsung’s larger XR (Extended Reality) plan, which also includes its recently announced Galaxy XR headset. Together, these devices will give users new ways to connect with technology using voice, vision, and smart interaction.

If successful, Samsung could change how people use AI in everyday life — from productivity and communication to entertainment and creativity.
