OnePlus has officially announced that the OxygenOS 16 update will launch in India on October 16, 2025. The update brings a new set of AI-powered features and the latest Android 16 base.

The company shared limited details about the new user interface, but a post on the OnePlus Community has revealed a list of devices likely to receive the update. The new version aims to make OnePlus phones smarter, faster, and more personal than ever before.

Notably, the OnePlus Nord CE 4, Nord CE 4 Lite, and Nord 3 may receive their final major update with OxygenOS 16. These devices were promised two to three years of updates at launch.

Rollout Plan: Who Gets the Update First?

The OxygenOS 16 rollout won’t happen for all models at once. It will first arrive on the latest flagship lineup — OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and OnePlus 13S. Older flagships such as the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 series will follow. Mid-range and Nord models are expected to get the update in later stages.

This staged rollout ensures that OnePlus can test and fine-tune the update for each device, minimizing bugs and optimizing performance.

OxygenOS 16: What’s New?

The new OxygenOS 16 will bring Android 16 to all eligible devices. OnePlus has confirmed that the update will introduce new AI features, powered by Gemini integration within its ‘Plus Mind’ system.

According to OnePlus, this integration will allow the AI assistant to “pull in the screenshots from the app to answer questions like planning a new trip.”

Leaks also suggest that lock-screen widgets could make a comeback, offering users more customization options. Additionally, OnePlus is likely to refresh system icons, add smoother animations, and redesign parts of the Settings and Notification panels.

OnePlus Embraces Smarter UI

With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus is stepping deeper into the AI ecosystem. The new UI is expected to deliver smarter context-aware assistance, better battery optimization, and a more personalized user experience.

By combining Android 16’s core improvements with OnePlus’s custom features, the company seems ready to take on competitors like Samsung’s One UI and Google’s Pixel Experience.

The launch on October 16 marks a significant milestone for OnePlus in India — blending power, design, and intelligence in one seamless update.
