Oppo is getting ready to launch ColorOS 16, its brand-new user interface (UI), on October 15, 2025, at an event in Shenzhen, China. The software is built on Android 16 and takes design inspiration from Apple’s latest iOS 26 Liquid Glass look.
The announcement will happen at the Oppo Developer Conference (ODC), where Oppo will also talk about its future AI projects and the larger vision for its custom software ecosystem.

Oppo has already given a glimpse of ColorOS 16’s design on its official Chinese website. The future user interface will appear sleek, thanks to rounded forms, layered transparency, and shadow depth effects.
As GizmoChina noted, “ColorOS 16 is clearly taking cues from the liquid glass design of iOS 26.”
Apple’s Liquid Glass design has received both praise and criticism, with some users finding it less readable. Oppo is expected to adapt the design in a way that makes it both stylish and practical for its smartphones.
The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will be the first smartphones to ship with ColorOS 16. These devices are scheduled to launch in China on October 16, just a day after the conference. A global release will follow on October 28.

Reports suggest the Find X9 series will run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor. Another highlight is the world’s first 1-nit display, which promises better eye comfort in dark or low-light conditions.
