OnePlus has officially dropped the first teaser for the upcoming OnePlus 15R in India. The teaser confirms that the launch is near. As expected, the phone will first arrive in China as the OnePlus Ace 6T before coming to India and global markets. The new teaser also shows that OnePlus is ready to push performance even further this year.
The OnePlus 15R has made headlines because of its processor. OnePlus China President Li Jie confirmed that the Ace 6T will launch as the world’s first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This is the non-Elite version of Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, and OnePlus has reportedly co-developed it.
OnePlus claims that the chip includes a special gaming kernel to keep 165Hz gameplay stable. The brand has also secured 165Hz optimization for at least one major game—likely Genshin Impact. This shows that OnePlus is targeting serious mobile gamers this time.
OnePlus has confirmed the 15R will launch soon in India, with several reports pointing to mid-December 2025. According to some sources, OnePlus itself said the 15R would debut in December after the OnePlus 15 launch. A more detailed leak suggests the release could fall between December 15 and December 25, 2025.
OnePlus has raised the price of its R-series phones each year. The OnePlus 12R started at ₹39,999 and the 13R at ₹42,999. A similar increase of around ₹3,000 is likely. With its new chipset, experts expect the OnePlus 15R to stay under ₹45,000, though a cheaper starting price seems unlikely.
This year, OnePlus appears to be shifting its strategy. Instead of promoting the 15R as a balanced mid-flagship, the company is positioning it as a mainstream gaming powerhouse.
The dedicated gaming kernel, 165Hz screen, large battery, and special game optimizations show that OnePlus wants to attract mobile gamers who want premium performance without paying full flagship prices.
