The second supermoon of 2025, this luminous full moon will appear in the skies on November 5, looking larger, brighter and more striking than ever but besides its impressive look, it also carries great historical and astrological weight.

Why is it called the Beaver Moon?

The name Beaver Moon is originally comes from Native American and early colonial traditions, signaling when beavers were busy preparing for winter by building lodges and storing food before the freeze.

Some historians say this was also the time when trappers set beaver traps to collect their valuable pelts. The name reminds one of nature’s rhythm and the instinct to prepare for colder days ahead.
