India Temporarily Restricts Telegram Until June 22 Over NEET Exam Fraud Concerns

The Indian government has temporarily blocked access to the Telegram messaging platform until June 22, citing concerns that the app was being used to spread misinformation and facilitate fraud linked to the NEET-UG re-examination. The move, taken under provisions of the Information Technology Act, follows reports of fake question paper leaks and aims to safeguard the integrity of the nationwide medical entrance exam. Authorities have also reportedly asked Telegram to disable its message-editing feature in India until June 30.
