Netizens started speculating the release of GTA VI on iPhone 17 after noticing a reference to the game in their launch event.
Apple announced their latest line of iPhone yesterday, the "Awe Dropping" event took place in Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California and was streamed to tech enthusiasts worldwide. The event saw the release of the usual iPhone line-up—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max— with the addition of the latest iPhone 17 Air.
At the launch, Apple talked about their latest and greatest mobile chip, their A19 Pro chip that utilises the 3-nanometer technology. This prompts the question of whether the latest iPhone chip is capable of running the most talked-about game of recent times, GTA VI.
In their segment regarding the iPhone 17's performance, Apple talked about their latest A19 Pro chip that boasts a 6‑core GPU with Neural Accelerators. They claimed that on the performance front, the phone delivers the highest performance on an iPhone ever. They said the phone is ideal for advanced gaming and the most demanding tasks. In their announcement, they said that the phone delivers "MacBook Pro levels of compute...perfect for GPU-intensive AI workloads."
Going by these claims, the possibility of the iPhone 17 running GTA VI does not look that far-fetched. However, nothing concrete can be said before the reviews.

Although neither Apple nor Rockstar Games has spoken on GTA VI's release on iPhone 17, fans are speculating on the possible collaboration. This comes after a post on the r/GTA subreddit where a user commented on the familiarity of the Apple set with the game's visuals. The user wrote, "Did apple just tease GTA VI on Iphone?"

The iPhone 17 offers the ProMotion display from the base model itself, along with a brighter display that is capable of going up to 3000 nits. The ultrawide camera of the new iPhone also saw an upgrade from 12 to 48 megapixels. It also comes with Ceramic Shield 2 to better resist scratches. The iPhone 17 range starts from ₹82,000, with the Pro and Pro Max models starting from ₹134900 and ₹149900, respectively.
The highly anticipated open-world game was supposed to release in late 2025. However, its developer, Rockstar Games, pushed the project to 2026. GTA VI is scheduled for release on 26th May, 2026.
