The year 2025 has proved to be a test of intense happenings, with many individuals finding themselves going back to a series of long-existing prophecies in relation to natural disasters, political upheavals and other mysterious phenomena taking place in the universe.
A series of individuals, including Baba Vanga, Remy De Haan also known as Nostradamus and a person named Ryo Tatsuki from Japan, were known to provide certain insights into this particular matter.
One of the most popular prognostics remains that of Baba Vanga, a Bulgarian clairvoyant who was blinded as a result of injuries sustained in a bomb attack. Although many of her predictions are very general, it is believed that she predicted various catastrophes that would affect the world.
Again, in 2025, her predictions were attributed to foretelling large earthquakes, political instabilities, as well as extraordinary occurrences in the sky.
Ryo Tatsuki is a manga illustrator from Japan, and her comic series, “The Future I Saw,” published in 1999, became a cult classic. With her drawings and writings that seemed to point to her own personal visions of disasters in and around Japan, her predictions for 2025 received renewed interest due to her proven accuracy in some of her earlier predictions.
Amongst the most reported occurrences of the overlaps with prophecy was the “devastating 28 March Myanmar earthquake which killed over 2,700” people. The effects of the earthquakes were experienced by Tonga just a few days later.
The most intense of all occurred on “30 July, when an 8.8 magnitude megathrust occurred near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, prompting tsunami warnings, which marked the most powerful earthquake since Japan in 2011.” Baba Vanga attributed these to her prophecy of major earthquakes.

“Fire from heaven and earth” in Baba Vanga’s prophecy gained renewed significance due to a series of earthquakes that hit the Kamchatka area in a seismic event in Russia.
The eruption of a volcano in Ethiopia named Hayli Gubbi, which has been dormant for 12,000 years, gave a chilling reminder of Baba Vanga’s prophecy. The ash cloud from this volcano even reached an altitude of 45,000 feet, hampering air traffic.
Although there was no fulfillment of the prediction that a new European war would break out from Baba Vanga,Europe faced a tense atmosphere. The war between Russia and Ukraine went on, with a shadow of a conflict between Israel and Gaza.
Predictions of a UFO being seen at a major sporting event in 2025, which turned out to be a non-event, were among her most sensational. Some suggested that odd comet 3I/ATLAS behavior might be related, but no major event occurred. An eccentric scientist even claimed it was of artificial origin.
Many believe Baba Vanga predicted an alien visit to Earth in 2025, a claim now resurfacing online as people link it to the strange interstellar object 3I/ATLAS. She is also said to have foretold human exploration of Venus by 2028 for energy needs, the global rise of communism by 2076 and humanity’s first contact with extraterrestrial life by 2130.

Economic fears escalated when President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs on various nations, including a 50 percent tariff on India for buying oil from Russia. This gave credence to theories that Baba Vanga foretold economic troubles.

The most popular of these predictions was when she foretold that there would be a devastating earthquake in July 2025, which would cause a rift in the sea near the Philippines. However, July went by with no significant event, but Japan experienced a strong 7.5 earthquake on 8 December, followed by a warning for a megathrust a day later. This, her fans claimed, marked a continuous danger.

There were also expectations that major breakthroughs in healthcare would occur this year, as predicted by Nostradamus. Correspondingly, a new tuberculosis vaccine has been developed, along with the use of artificial intelligence to foresee cancer risks even before symptoms occur.
Not all of the prophecies were on target, but 2025 offered numerous topics of conversation for those who believed in these visions. Earthquake devastation went on in various countries, volcanoes erupted that were dormant and political instabilities were also in play. Coincidence or insight, these predictions fascinate a world caught in chaos.
