Apple may finally join the foldable smartphone market. According to multiple leaks, the company is working on its first foldable device, which many are calling the iPhone Fold.

Apple has not confirmed the phone, but growing reports suggest the device is in development and could arrive in the next few years. The rumours also hint at its expected features, design, and possible pricing.

iPhone Fold Launch Date in India (Expected)

Apple has not confirmed the iPhone Fold, but multiple leaks suggest the device may launch in September 2026. Some reports also claim the release could be delayed to 2027 if Apple needs more time to refine its foldable technology.

The company is believed to be testing several prototypes, which might be why the timeline remains uncertain. Until Apple officially announces the device, these dates remain speculative.

iPhone Fold Price in India (Expected)

The expected price of the iPhone Fold in India may fall between ₹1,75,000 and ₹2,00,000. This pricing places the device in the ultra-premium category, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series and other high-end foldable phones.

Apple may offer the iPhone Fold at a higher price depending on the storage options, chipset, and special software features designed for the foldable display. Since the device is still a rumoured product, the final price could change at launch.

iPhone Fold: Design & Display (Expected)

Leaks suggest the iPhone Fold may feature a crease-free 7.8-inch internal display. Apple may also add a 5.5-inch external cover screen, giving users a compact display when the phone is folded. The company is expected to choose a book-style folding design, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, rather than a flip-style layout.

Reports also say the device may support IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means it could offer strong water and dust resistance. Apple has already set high standards for durability in the iPhone lineup, so advanced protection on the iPhone Fold seems likely.

iPhone Fold: Camera Setup (Expected)

Apple may include a dual-camera setup on the iPhone Fold. The phone may feature two 48MP rear sensors, including a main camera and an ultrawide lens. On the inside display, Apple may offer an under-display front camera between 12MP and 24MP, depending on the variant. This design will help Apple maintain a clean inner-screen experience without visible camera cutouts.

iPhone Fold: Processor & Software Expectations

The upcoming iPhone Fold may use one of two chips. Apple may choose the A20 Pro chipset, built on a 2nm process, or the A19 Bionic chip, which reportedly focuses on AI tasks and enhanced multitasking. If Apple uses the larger internal display for advanced productivity, powerful chip upgrades will be essential.

The device is expected to run on iOS 27, which may include special features for foldable screens. These enhancements may include improved multitasking, better app continuity, and smooth transitions between folded and unfolded modes.

Apple is Testing a New Product Identity

Apple introduced the iPhone Air this year, but the company reportedly paused development of the iPhone Air 2 due to a weaker response. This shift hints that Apple is exploring a new product identity.

The iPhone Fold could become the next major chapter in Apple’s hardware evolution. Instead of launching yearly refreshes, Apple may focus on bold, experimental categories to stand out in a crowded smartphone market.
