Apple is set for its biggest launch of the year tomorrow, September 9, at 10:30 PM IST. The “Awe Dropping” event will bring the new iPhone 17 lineup, upgraded Apple Watches, and the latest AirPods Pro. With rivals like Samsung, Google, and Huawei pushing hard, Apple is relying on fresh hardware to keep users loyal to its ecosystem.
WATCH HERE:
Four new iPhone models will be released by Apple, and that is — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the brand new iPhone 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Air: This will be the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.5mm. It will feature the A19 chip, a 6.6-inch ProMotion display, and eSIM support, but the slim design means a smaller battery and only one rear camera. The Air will sit between the regular iPhone 17 and the Pro models.

iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max: These models are getting their first major redesign since 2020. They will have aluminium backs with a new camera section stretching across the top. Both will run on the A19 Pro chip, offer bigger batteries, and introduce big camera upgrades. The telephoto lens will move to 48MP, the selfie camera will see its biggest upgrade ever, and users may get new features like front-and-back video recording.
iPhone 17: The standard version will get a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen, the A19 chip, and a ProMotion display for smoother performance. It won’t get the full redesign, but still offers solid upgrades.
Apple is also launching new cases, including a bumper-style cover for the Air, and new colours like light blue and orange for the Pro models.
Apple will refresh its smartwatch range too:
Apple Watch Ultra 3: It comes back with a bigger display, a new S11 chip, 5G Redcap support, and satellite texting for emergencies. Apple intends for this watch to directly compete with Garmin by appealing to fitness and outdoor enthusiasts.
Apple Watch Series 11: The design will stay the same, but it will bring a brighter display, new colours, and faster performance.
Apple Watch SE: With a new chip and refreshed screens, the entry-level device will be a better option for children.
Apple is also working on a new Health+ service with AI-powered health features, expected next year.

Additionally, Apple plans to improve its high-end earphones. The first significant update in three years will be the AirPods Pro 3. They might have a better pairing, a smaller charging case, and heart rate monitoring. The ability to translate conversations in real time with iOS 26 would be a noteworthy feature.
This launch is more than just new products. Apple is doubling down on hardware at a time when competitors are focusing on AI. With the redesigned iPhone 17 Pro, the super-thin iPhone 17 Air, updated Apple Watches, and smarter AirPods, Apple is strengthening its ecosystem for the future.
Tomorrow’s event will also set the stage for what’s coming — including foldable iPhones and a special 20th anniversary model in 2027.
