Adobe has rolled out a major AI expansion across its Creative Cloud suite at the Adobe MAX 2025 conference. The update brings new artificial intelligence models and tools to Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator, giving creators smarter, faster, and more precise ways to work.

Deepa Subramaniam, Vice President of Product Marketing for Creative Professionals at Adobe, said,

“We’re delivering several groundbreaking AI tools and models into creative professionals’ go-to apps, so they can harness the tremendous economic and creative opportunities presented by the rising global demand for creative content. With AI that gives creative professionals more power, precision and control – and time-savings – Creative Cloud is truly the creative professional’s best friend.”

AI Assistant Comes to Photoshop, Firefly, and Adobe Express

One of the biggest highlights is the AI Assistant, now available in Photoshop on the web, Firefly, and Adobe Express. The tool allows users to chat with the AI, give creative commands, receive personalized suggestions, and even access tutorials—all within the app. Users can smoothly switch between manual controls and AI-powered automation, making creation more efficient than ever.

New Generative Tools Powered by Partner Models

Adobe also introduced new Generative Fill and Upscale tools. Generative Fill uses advanced models like Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.1 Kontext, and Adobe’s Firefly Image Models to edit and enhance images using simple text prompts while keeping visual consistency.

Generative Upscale, developed in collaboration with Topaz Labs, allows users to increase image resolution up to 4K, adding realistic details without losing quality.

Advanced Editing Tools for Video and Photos

In Premiere Pro, Adobe launched AI Object Mask, which automatically identifies and isolates subjects in video frames, reducing manual editing time. For Photoshop, the new Harmonize feature helps blend people or objects seamlessly into different scenes.

Meanwhile, Lightroom users can now test Assisted Culling (public beta) — an AI-powered tool that helps photographers pick the best shots based on focus, sharpness, and composition.

Firefly Image Model 5 and Over 100 App Enhancements

Adobe also introduced Firefly Image Model 5 (public beta). This latest AI engine powers new tools that let users make detailed edits using natural language prompts. It ensures that even complex visual changes maintain coherence and accuracy.

The company said it has released over 100 performance and design improvements across Creative Cloud apps. Most of the new AI tools, including Generative Fill, Upscale, and Harmonize, are already available. Features like AI Object Mask and Assisted Culling remain in beta, while Firefly Custom Models will roll out to early users next month.

Free Generations for Subscribers

Adobe confirmed that Creative Cloud Pro and Firefly plan subscribers can enjoy unlimited image and video generations using Firefly and partner models until December 1.

A New Era for Creators

With these AI-powered upgrades, Adobe is redefining how professionals approach creative work. The company’s deep integration of partner models and homegrown AI signals a shift toward collaborative, prompt-driven creativity—where ideas move faster from imagination to execution.
