Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the Election Commission was in charge of massive voter list manipulation during the just-finished Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi claimed in a press conference that the electoral process was seriously jeopardized by thousands of phony and unverifiable names on the voter rolls.

Names with Zero House Numbers, Gibberish Family Names

Rahul Gandhi raised doubts about the validity of the voting roll by citing particular voters whose records showed blatantly suspicious entries. One such case was of Tika Kumari Acharya, a 35-year-old woman whose house number was listed as zero, and whose husband’s name appeared as “YTDTR”. Her EPIC number is SVF8280943.

Another example cited was Tek Raj Sapkota, a 40-year-old voter with a father’s name listed as “DFOGADF” and house number zero. Similarly, Sarita Devi, aged 38, had her father’s name recorded as “ITSDLHUG”, again with house number zero. All these entries belong to Booth No. 432.

“These names are not anomalies; they are part of a large pattern,” said Gandhi. “There are approximately 40,000 such unverifiable voters.”

One-Room Homes Hosting Dozens of Voters

Rahul Gandhi also pointed out how dozens of voters were registered at the same one-room address, calling it a blatant sign of electoral manipulation.

“At Booth No. 470, a single-room house had 80 voters listed as residents,” he said. At Booth No. 366, he noted that 46 voters from different families were shown living in one bedroom. “When we visited the address, no one was found living there,” Gandhi added.

In a bizarre case, he mentioned “153 BIERE Club”, a location registered as a beer manufacturing unit, which reportedly had 68 voters registered as residents. “When we visited this place and inquired about the listed people, no one had any answers,” said Gandhi.

Blurred Photos, Duplicate Entries, and Invalid Form Use

According to Rahul Gandhi, the voter list is riddled with thousands of suspicious entries beyond fake addresses.

He said 4,132 voters had unclear or extremely small photographs in their records, making identification nearly impossible. He also claimed serious discrepancies with Form-6 usage, stating that 33,692 names were added improperly, many of them first-time voters.

Highlighting a case of voter duplication, Gandhi mentioned Shakunt Rani, a 70-year-old woman who appeared twice in the voter list. “Either she or someone impersonating her voted twice using different entries,” Gandhi said.

“Systematic and Deliberate Fraud”

Summing up his allegations, Rahul Gandhi said that the electoral fraud is not random or accidental. “These are three clear types of fraud — unverifiable addresses, fake names, and misuse of voter forms,” he said.

He concluded by saying that 33,000 such fraudulent actions were carried out in a single parliamentary constituency, hinting at a nationwide pattern.

With these serious allegations, the Congress party is expected to demand a comprehensive investigation into the voter registration process. “This is about the integrity of Indian democracy,” said Gandhi.

The Election Commission has not yet issued a formal response to the claims.
