Bihar Election 2025: Khesari Lal Yadav, a singer-actor and the Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate from the Chhapra constituency, arrived at a polling booth in Saran district to cast his vote in the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.
The presence of Khesari at the polling booths is a vivid illustration of how celebrity status merges with electoral politics in the high-stakes battle of Bihar.
After casting his vote, Khesari Lal Yadav told the media and the volunteers present at the venue, "People who comment on me have nothing to do with Bihar's development. I have not come here to fight any individual; I've come here for Bihar's development-better education, stopping migration, for jobs, employment, hospitals.I believe that till the time this government is removed, you can't think of better development in Bihar".
His remarks emphasize a pivot of the campaign from the celebrity image to a developmental narrative of job creation, education, and infrastructure.
Khesari Lal Yadav was born on 15 March 1986 in Dhanadih of Saran district, Bihar. He is a noted actor-singer of the Bhojpuri film world and now a political candidate with the RJD.
Having gained a huge following and even becoming a cultural icon in Bihar and surrounding states, he plunged into politics and was declared a candidate from Chhapra for Bihar 2025. His appeal cuts across the youth, film audiences, and the Bhojpuri-speaking belt.
