The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) released its first list of 71 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. The list includes several prominent leaders, including outgoing deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, who will contest from Tarapur and Lakhisarai constituencies, respectively.

On Sunday, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finalised its seat-sharing formula for the elections. Under the agreement, both the BJP and the Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each, while Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been allotted 29 seats.
The BJP has announced candidates for 71 out of its 101 seats, while the remaining names are expected in the second list. The announcement signals the party’s readiness to take on the upcoming elections with its core leadership and new faces.
