Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram on Friday launched a sharp attack on the previous YSRCP government, alleging that the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged ₹3,500-crore liquor scam has uncovered evidence pointing towards the “inner circle of the Tadepalli Palace.”

Addressing a press conference at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, Pattabhi Ram made serious allegations against K. Nageswar Reddy (KNR), former Personal Assistant to ex-Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that during the 2019-2024 period, more than ₹20 crore in cash was deposited into the bank account of KNR’s wife.

According to Pattabhi Ram, KNR allegedly amassed vast properties and undisclosed assets across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. These reportedly include 40 acres of land near Jaggayyapeta, 10 acres in Tirupati, prime properties in Darsi and Bhogapuram, luxury villas, premium apartments, two kilograms of gold and ownership of a luxury car dealership.

Drawing a political contrast, Pattabhi Ram said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu believes in the “P4 model Public Private People Partnership” aimed at eradicating poverty, while the YSRCP allegedly followed a different “P4 formula Power, Property, Paisa Partnership.”

“KNR was not merely a Personal Assistant, but a ‘Percentage Assistant.’ No one could reportedly enter the gates of Tadepalli Palace or meet the boss without paying commissions,” he alleged.

Referring to a recent article published in Sakshi defending KNR’s wealth as earnings from businesses started during his journalism career in 2003, Pattabhi Ram termed the explanation an “indirect admission” of the existence of massive assets.

“If they are trying to justify the wealth instead of denying the SIT findings, it amounts to accepting that these lands, villas and crores worth of assets actually exist,” he said, questioning how a journalist with a modest income could allegedly accumulate enormous wealth within five years of serving as a PA.

Pattabhi Ram further alleged that the money involved was “blood money” generated through a liquor scam that compromised public health through the sale of substandard alcohol.

He asserted that the Alliance government would not pursue politically motivated cases, adding that the SIT was tracing the money trail with documentary evidence and that the investigation would eventually reach the “real masterminds.”
