The BJP workers and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were present near the Statue of Unity in Kevadia on 2 September. There was an executive committee meeting of the BJP Gujarat unit. Addressing the gathering, Singh said, “This government will never allow any terrorist intentions to be successful. Since Narendra Modi has come as the Prime Minister, forget Jammu and Kashmir, India’s hinterland has not witnessed any major terror act.” He added that PM Modi has also taken the challenge to eradicate corruption left behind by the Congress party.
The Defence Minister said that the reason for BJP’s success in Gujarat is that it changed the lives of the people with its power. The Defense Minister laid wreaths at the majestic statue of Sardar Patel.
Singh said that in Gujarat, BJP workers, under the leadership of C. R. Patil, have become stronger through the use of technology. In two years, India has exported Rs 17,000 crore. He also said that in a short time, India will also become fully self-sufficient in arms production. The Congress has to bring in imported talent, while the Gujarat BJP has no shortage of talent, Singh maintained while adding, opposing anything is synonymous with the word Rahul Gandhi.
Singh slammed the Congress. He said that Congress used the name Mahatma Gandhi a lot. But he left Gandhiji’s work. Singh said, “The Congress claims that they are followers of Mahatma Gandhi… but they haven’t carried forward the works that Gandhiji left behind… Even Deendayal Upadhyay has spoken of the poorest of the poor. This is the basis of the work we (BJP) do and so our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had started the Antyodaya Yojana, which Modiji is now taking forward. Congress government has done their own good rather than the good of the country. Congress has increased corruption instead of benefiting the people.”
The Defense Minister said that the beginning of performance politics by Gujarat has changed the politics of the country. PM Modi has played a crucial role in this change. For the last 20 years, they have been concerned with performance politics and human interest.
A condolence motion was presented after the welcome address of Patil in the executive meeting in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Then a motion of thanks for the work of the Central and State governments was presented. Besides, Singh launched the Digital Connect Gujarat project. Deputy CM Nitin Patel brought a political proposal in the meeting as well as presented matters related to Mission 2022. The final session concluded with an address by CM Rupani.
