Green crackers legal sale is permitted only at specified places and by authorized traders (who are registered with NEERI/PESO and possess a special police license). These specified locations shift annually but are typically big, open fields.
These are the top 7 locations/places where the Delhi government usually establishes these legal sales sites, or where you would find licensed, permanent stalls:
Sadar Bazar Area (Old Delhi):
This is the wholesale area of old times. Though the narrow streets are prohibited, the authorities usually establish permitted large, open parking areas or grounds close to Sadar Bazar for licensed temporary stalls.
Ramleela Grounds (East Delhi):
Various big Ramleela grounds in East and Northeast Delhi districts are regularly sanctioned as secure, open spaces for temporary licensed stalls.
Najafgarh Area (South-West Delhi):
Because there is a great population in outer Delhi, certain vacant plots or school premises in the zones, such as Najafgarh, tend to receive temporary licenses for local vendors.
Dwarka (Sector Grounds):
Some open sector grounds or broad community areas of Dwarka are regularly utilized as fixed places for cracker sales within the Southwest district.
Chandni Chowk / Bhagirath Place:
Though the central market is shut to illegal sales, this place boasts a tradition of permanent firecracker traders. Licensed dealers here can sell from their fixed stalls if they satisfy all green cracker standards (QR code, NEERI certification).
Rohini (Sector Grounds):
Similar to Dwarka, open grounds in Rohini sectors in Northwest Delhi are generally sanctioned by the police to establish temporary stalls off the main roads and residential ones.
Prahladpur/Badarpur Border Area:
Places near the borders of NCR, i.e., in and around Prahladpur or in the area near the Badarpur-Mehrauli Road, tend to have authorized dealers who sell from fixed police-approved locations.
