Hajj 2026 Registration: Starting from December 2, 2025, Qatar opened its electronic system for selection and registration for the Hajj of 1447 AH. The system is designed by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in a way that makes the approval process transparent and smooths the journey planning both for pilgrims and operators.

This digital model ensures quick notifications, easier contract finalization and better oversight of services. With a fixed quota of 4,400 pilgrims for Qatar this year, authorities are maintaining quality support while meeting stricter health and eligibility requirements.

How the selection & registration works

Those selected from the applicants in the electronic system are sent an SMS confirmation of their approval. Their registration, in turn, must then be completed within a week through one of the 24 accredited Hajj operators on the official portal, www.hajj.gov.qa.

This is also the stage at which an electronic contract is signed and an advance of QAR 10,000, deductible against the final cost of the Hajj package, is paid. The system works to prevent wasted slots and makes sure that all who register are fully committed to performing Hajj.

New system upgrades & early registration

For this year, the digital platform has been enhanced with a smoother online payment interface and an improved set of tracking tools. Early registration allows operators to wrap up logistics earlier including accommodation, transport and essential services in Saudi Arabia. This will help minimize administrative delays and allow the pilgrims to embark on their journey with clarity and confidence.

Quota, Oversight & Support

The quota for Qatar is unchanged at 4,400 pilgrims. The Awqaf Ministry in Qatar coordinates with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj to ensure fulfillment of all requirements related to travel, residency and health.

Pre-season preparations in Saudi Arabia include finalizing national quotas, confirming accommodation and transport contract & the activation of the registration platform. Qatar has also introduced a dedicated hotline, 132, for all inquiries about the selection and registration process.

Rules & New Health Requirements

Qatar has issued stringent eligibility criteria for Hajj 2026, focusing on residency, age and medical fitness. The medical fitness certificate from a Primary Health Care Center is a must for every applicant.

Deposit amount of QAR 10,000 will be required at the time of registration, deducted against the full package cost.
