Navratri 2025: The auspicious 9-day celebration of Navratri will be celebrated from 22nd September to 2nd October of this year, culminating with Vijaydashami or Dussehra. During these days, the nine divine manifestations of Maa Durga, known as Navdurgas together, are worshipped by the devotees.
They are Maa Shailputri, Maa Brahmacharini, Maa Chandraghanta, Maa Kushmanda, Maa Skandamata, Maa Katyayani, Maa Kalaratri, Maa Mahagauri, and Maa Siddhidatri. Navratri Day 1: White (Maa Shailaputri)
The color white represents innocence and purity. Dress in white on this day to appease Maa Shailputri and gain inner peace and security.
Navratri Day 2: Red (Maa Brahmacharini)
Red color represents passion and love, and energizes one with vitality and vigor. It is also the most auspicious color of Chunri which is presented to the Goddess.
Navratri Day 3: Blue (Maa Chandraghanta)
Blue signifies richness, tranquility, and depth. Wear this color to celebrate Maa Chandraghanta, who symbolizes the married version of Goddess Parvati.
Navratri Day 4: Yellow (Maa Chandraghanta)
Wear yellow on day 4 to celebrate Navratri celebrations, as yellow is a bright and cheerful color that radiates positivity and lifts one’s spirit. The name of Maa Chandraghanta is inspired by the half-moon on her forehead, which signifies peace and beauty.
Navratri Day 5: Green (Maa Kushmanda)
The shade represents nature, new life, and brings about feelings of growth, fertility, peace and calm. By dressing in green on this day, Goddess Kushmanda shall grant you peace.
Navratri Day 6: Grey (Maa Skandamata)
Grey depicts stable emotions and keeps the individual grounded. Wear this hue to worship Skandamata, the fifth incarnation of Goddess Durga.
