The Bhavishya Malika is an old text credited to Saint Achyutananda Das. It is full of prophecies that people still talk about today. Some believe it even predicted the economic troubles of South Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Since all three nations have faced economic and political crises in recent years, many wonder if this ancient text truly foresaw their downfall while but is that really the case, or are we just fitting events into vague predictions?
What the Bhavishya Malika Actually Says
The text talks about big global events. It mentions wars, disasters, and even a worldwide economic crash and it says that money and gold will lose value. Food and other essentials will become so costly that people will struggle to survive. It even suggests governments may step in with strict controls also the predictions also point to job losses, natural disasters, and rising unrest in societies. However, the text does not name any specific country.

Sri Lanka’s Crisis and the Prophecy
Sri Lanka went through one of the worst financial crises in recent history. The country defaulted on debt, inflation skyrocketed, and protests filled the streets. People could not get fuel, food, or medicine. To some, this looked exactly like the collapse described in the Bhavishya Malika and but it’s important to note that the text never said “Sri Lanka.” The connection comes from interpretation, not direct mention.
Bangladesh and Its Struggles
Bangladesh has also seen economic struggles in recent years. Rising prices, falling exports, and social unrest have made life difficult for citizens while many see this as proof of the prophecy’s warnings about scarcity and hardship. Still, just like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is not named in the Bhavishya Malika.
Nepal’s Turmoil
Nepal too has faced instability. Protests forced a Prime Minister to resign, and the country continues to deal with unemployment, inflation, and poverty. Supporters of the prophecy say this fits the predictions of unrest and hardship. But again, there is no direct link in the text to Nepal.

So, Did It Really Predict?
When we look closely, the Bhavishya Malika makes broad statements about economic collapse, disasters, and unrest and these can apply to many nations at different times. While the recent struggles of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal may seem to match, the prophecy never named them. Their economic crises came from political decisions, global pressures, and internal issues while the Bhavishya Malika adds mystery, but saying it directly predicted these collapses is a stretch.
