JAMMU: A Pakistani terrorist belonging to the proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit was neutralised in a joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the general area of Bilawar in Kathua district, officials said on Friday.

Sharing details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti said that the operation was carried out by a small, well-coordinated team of JKP personnel in close coordination with the Army and CRPF, acting on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the region.

“A Pakistani Jaish terrorist has been neutralized by a small JKP team in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in the general area of Bilawar, Kathua district,” IGP Jammu said in a post on social media platform X.

The Indian Army’s Rising Star Corps, in a statement issued through its official X handle, said the joint operation was launched on January 23, 2026, in the general area of Pather in Kathua district after receiving specific intelligence inputs.
