NEW DELHI: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday outlined the state’s roadmap for achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”, emphasizing agriculture, women empowerment, youth-led innovation and welfare for the poor as key pillars of development.
Speaking during a session on Day 1 of the NXT Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Saini said Haryana is working in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed India by 2047.
“If India has to become a developed nation, every state must contribute to that goal. Haryana is moving ahead with a clear roadmap so that it plays a significant role in achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said.
Saini said the state government is focusing on four major pillars identified by the Prime Minister—farmers, women, youth and the upliftment of the poor. He noted that agriculture continues to be the backbone of Haryana, while policies are also being implemented to promote natural farming, horticulture and innovation in the sector.

Highlighting women’s participation across sectors, the chief minister said women are increasingly contributing to defence, industry, agriculture, education and healthcare. The state government, he added, is strengthening women-led enterprises through MSME support and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Saini also spoke about Haryana’s Future Affairs Department, describing it as a forward-looking initiative aimed at preparing long-term development strategies. The department works with universities and researchers to study emerging challenges and develop solutions for the next 20 to 50 years, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, water management and urban planning.
On the role of technology, Saini said Haryana is investing in artificial intelligence to drive future growth. The state has announced plans to establish AI hubs in Gurugram and Panchkula, aimed at building skills among young people and creating new employment opportunities. The government recently hosted an AI-focused summit in Chandigarh and has already received multiple proposals from companies interested in developing the technology ecosystem in Panchkula.
The chief minister also highlighted infrastructure and investment initiatives outlined in the state budget, including plans to develop 10 industrial Model Townships (IMTs) to attract domestic and global investors. Haryana is also preparing to host an investor meet in Gurugram and conduct international roadshows to promote industrial investment in the state.
On employment generation, Saini said the government is focusing on skill development and entrepreneurship rather than relying solely on government jobs. Skill centres and a dedicated skills university in Palwal are working to train youth according to industry requirements.
He also highlighted schemes aimed at empowering women economically, noting that around 1.5 lakh women in Haryana have already become “Lakhpati Didis”, with a target to create three lakh more women entrepreneurs through self-help groups and financial support programmes.
